Text: Ecclesiastes 10:10 AMP

“If the axe is dull and he does not sharpen its edge, then he must exert more strength; but wisdom [to sharpen the axe] helps him succeed [with less effort].”

Calvary greetings in the name of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

Welcome to this day that the Lord has made specifically for conquering and celebrating victories in every endeavour.

I want us to focus our attention on something that affects every Christian at one time or another: Losing our spiritual edge and struggling to succeed in our daily endeavours.

God wants us to stay spiritually sharp daily for our effectiveness in daily endeavors. 

Consider our text Ecclesiastes 10:10,

God is using this analogy to illustrate a very important truth: If you lose your edge spiritually, you lose your effectiveness and productivity as well.

Maybe you feel that way today. 

Though you are exerting strenuous effort, you are making little progress in your spiritual life and financial prosperity. 

God wants you to go forward. He wants you to progress, prosper and not become stagnant in your spiritual life and daily goals.

I have a friend whose father was a logger many years ago. 

It was a time when they cut all the timber by hand with just an axe.

One day his father shared about the way he would operate. 

After he chopped down a tree, he would sit on the stump of the tree he had just chopped down, take out a file he kept on his belt, and he would sharpen the edge of the axe. 

He would sit there until the axe was very sharp again, then he would go after the next tree.

Each time he chopped down a tree he would do exactly the same thing. 

But he said most of the other guys didn’t do that. 

They just wanted to keep going, never stopping to sharpen their axes.

Without fail, he said, he always got more done than they did, and he used a lot less effort. 

They had to exercise more strength, yet they got less done.

Can we learn some lessons here?

To conquer daily, pray as you go conquering in your daily tasks.

Take out some time to deliberately pray per hour at your daily job.

Even if at noon as you are on break, or just keep praying as your spirit reminder pops up the need to pray within the day.

This will keep you in check, improve your spirituality and give you an edge to prosper with ease.

It's my prayers that we all be empowered with wisdom to walk in this grace and be sharpened to conquer every day's challenges with ease.

May today be a day filled with possibilities and opportunities for us to step ahead of all our competitors.

I command frustrations and disappointments to get lost for us to prosper with less effort henceforth.

I decree that fovour will swallow all labouring and our works henceforth will bear sweet fruits in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.
